Hello, I’m Yoerie Custers (1992) from Maastricht. Because of my study in InteriorDesign, I often had to fiddle around with DSLR camera’s. I quickly got the hang of its usage, and I came in the possession of a Nikon D3100 camera, a lightweight, easy to carry around camera with lots of options. It all started with landscape shots. From delicate flowers, glowing in the colors of dawn, to dark, gloomy nights during chilly winter days. I also had an interest for taking portraits. However when fall came Urbex photography caught my eye. I gathered information by purchasing and reading books on the subject, as well as interviewing experienced ‘Urban Explorers’. That was when I first started trying for myself, freeing the little boy in me that had always excitedly conquered desolate places joyously admiring the history behind architectural feats. The eye for detail and the kick of doing what is entering prohibited property is what sells it for me. And I continue doing what I did since I was a little boy: beholding past glory!
